Background & Identity Checks
- All Care Providers must pass a third-party background check, including identity check, criminal records screening, and reference review.
- Providers must upload a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Background checks are reviewed annually and required before job acceptance.
- Any issues or red flags result in immediate account suspension.
- Care Seekers see background check badge directly on provider profiles.
- Care Seekers may request a copy of a Care Provider's background check report directly.
Credentials & Certification
- Care Providers must upload current professional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, CNA, HHA, TB Test, and Dementia Care training.
- All documentation is reviewed for validity before being reflected on a public profile.
- Expired or un-checked certifications may result in restricted platform access.
- Care Seekers may request a copy of a Care Provider's credentials and certifications directly.
Online Safety
- Only communicate through Go2Care's secure messaging system during the initial hiring process.
- Be cautious of unsolicited messages asking for personal contact information or urgent payments.
- Do not click on suspicious links or attachments from unknown users.
- Report any phishing attempts or inappropriate messages immediately using the in-app reporting tool.
- Never share your login credentials with anyone.
Safe Interview & Meeting Practices
- Arrange first-time interviews in public settings or over video chat.
- Check caregiver identity during video meetings before allowing access to your home.
- Avoid disclosing your exact address until a background check has been approved.
- Let a trusted contact know the date, time, and location of all meetings.
In-Home Safety Practices
- Remove or lock up valuable items and personal documents before the start of care.
- Install home security cameras in common areas (caregiver must be notified).
- Discuss household rules, medical needs, and expectations before the first day of care.
- Conduct periodic check-ins and monitor for red flags.
Communication & Privacy
- Use Go2Care's internal chat for scheduling and documentation.
- Keep personal contact information private until trust is established.

- Never pay for caregiving services in advance unless handled through Go2Care's secure system.

Warning Signs to Watch For
Red Flags in Caregivers:
- Avoids or delays background checks or credential submission
- Requests urgent hiring, upfront payments, or sensitive information
- Refuses video or in-person meetings
- Displays erratic communication or questionable professionalism
Signs of Elder Abuse or Neglect:
- Injuries or bruises with no explanation
- Sudden mood changes, anxiety, or withdrawal
- Poor hygiene, missed medications, or declining health
- Isolated from family or friends
Financial Exploitation:
- Unexplained account withdrawals or changes in wills
- Missing valuables, jewelry, or cash
- Care recipient expresses fear when discussing money
- New individuals showing financial interest or control
For Care Seekers
- Check caregiver credentials and photo ID
